The statutory deadline for completing the 2020 to 2021 audit was 30 November 2020. These accounts were made available for public inspection from 24 August to 5 October 2020 and were approved by the Audit Committee following successful completion of the audit on 14 October 2021.

Each year the council’s Statement of Accounts is subject to external audit by Grant Thornton UK LLP. Any person interested has the right to inspect and make copies of the accounts and any relevant documents.

We give notice that Medway Council’s draft Statement of Accounts for year ended 31 March 2021 have now been published and are therefore available for inspection.

The delay in this publication has arisen due to the on-going impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on resources and the audit of the Statement of Accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 only concluding in October 2021.

Inspection period for 2020 to 2021 accounts

Any interested person may inspect and copy the accounts and related documents of this body by appointment between 10am and 4pm on weekdays, from 7 March 2022 to 15 April 2022.

Any elector for the area of the Medway Council or their representative may question the auditor about the 2020 to 2021 accounts or make an objection on any matter in respect of which the auditor could take action as set out in sections 26 and 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
