Having regular eye tests can detect early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, as well as other health conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
10 steps to healthy eyes
The Eye Care Trust give 10 steps to healthy eyes:
- eat right for good sight
- exercise regularly
- get a good night’s sleep
- do not smoke
- use goggles to protect your eyes
- limit the amount of alcohol that you drink
- protect your eyes against the damaging effects of UV light
- watch your weight
- drink plenty of water
- have regular eye examinations.
