A better Medway

Substance misuse can have negative effects on a person's health, including their oral health.

There are a range of services and apps available that can help people who misuse drugs or alcohol.

Adult substance misuse services

Medway Treatment and Recovery Service - River

River, which stands for Responsive, Inspirational, Visible, Empowering and Recovery Orientated, helps people that have issues with drugs or alcohol and want to make a positive change.

The service also supports the family and friends of people who are worried about their loved one’s substance use.

The service is for people who:

  • are aged 18 and over
  • live in Medway
  • have issues with drugs or alcohol or are impacted by the drug or alcohol use of a loved one (even if that loved one is not ready to get support themselves).

To refer yourself or a loved one and to find out more about the support available, visit the River service online or email theforwardtrust.medway@nhs.net.

River is delivered by The Forward Trust and Open Road.
