Apply for a traders parking permit
You can apply for a traders parking permit online.
Before you start, you'll need:
- a letter on company headed paper confirming you need a permit to carry out your day-to-day business
- your business details
- your name and contact details.
Your proof must be clear and readable.
Members of the Fair Traders Association will receive a 10% discount. To claim your discount, upload proof of membership with your application.
A traders parking permit costs £184.
With a Fair Traders Association discount, this is reduced to £165.60.

What happens next
Once we've received your application, we'll send you a confirmation email.
If your application is successful, we’ll send you an email with a link to a payment form, for you to pay online.
We aim to send your permit to you within 10 working days of the date we received your payment.
Once you receive your permit you must display it clearly in your vehicle or risk being issued with a parking fine, also known as a penalty charge notice (PCN).
If you do not receive a payment email
You are only sent an email with a link to pay once your application has been reviewed and approved.
Your application will remain pending If we need further information or proof and will not be approved until we receive it.
If your application has been approved but you do not receive a payment email, check your junk or spam folders.
If the email is not in your junk or spam folder, or you have accidently deleted it, contact the Parking Team by email to permits@medway.gov.uk
