Medway Marmot Place

Medway is one of the first places in the South East to commit to starting the journey to becoming a Marmot Place.

Marmot places are named after Professor Sir Michael Marmot who is a global authority on health equity and author of the Fair Society Healthy Lives report. 

We'll be working with Professor Sir Michael Marmot and the UCL Institute for Health Equity. 

Leaders from across Medway, are joining forces as a Marmot Place Partnership to tackle serious health inequalities that affect residents. 

The Marmot Place Partnership includes:

  • Medway Council
  • businesses
  • the NHS
  • schools
  • community groups.
