Medway is starting an exciting journey to becoming a Marmot Place.
Marmot Places are communities committed to reducing health inequalities and helping everyone live a longer and healthier life.
Health is not just about doctors and genetics. It's shaped by things including:
- housing
- jobs
- education
- clean air
- social connections.
Not everyone has equal access to these essentials and the Medway Marmot Place Partnership wants to change this.
The partnership is a group of local leaders, business people and residents who are working together to create a fairer, healthier future for everyone in Medway.
Our work is guided by the world of global health equity expert Sir Michael Marmot and the UCL Institute for Health Equity (IHE).
