Delays to brown bin repairs

We're currently experiencing stock supply issues causing some delays of brown bin repairs.

Repairs will be made as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Libraries currently have limited stock of all recycling bags.

The clear sack delivery service is still running. You'll receive a roll of clear recycling sacks at your door every 13 weeks.

You can order a blue or white reusable recycling bag to be delivered to your door by using the online form below.

Clear sacks

The clear sack delivery service is still running. You'll receive a roll of clear recycling sacks at your door every 13 weeks.

If you have reusable blue and white bags, please continue to use these - washing and squashing the contents to make full use of their capacity.

If you've run out of Medway Council clear sacks and do not have reusable bags, you can use cardboard boxes for your paper and card, or shop-bought transparent bags. Shop-bought bags must not be white or opaque.

To help collection crews easily identify refuse and recycling make sure refuse and recycling are placed out separately from each other.

If you have a roll of clear sacks that you no longer need, give them to neighbours, family or friends for their recycling.

Reusable recycling bags

Reusable bags are the most environmentally-friendly option and can help reduce single use plastic.

Using the blue reusable bag for paper and the white reusable bag for other recycling will help you reduce global warming and save money.

When ordering blue and white bags online, make sure that you choose the reusable bags option.

If your blue or white reusable bag breaks, put it in a black rubbish sack and we will collect it with your normal bin collection.

Collecting recycling bin bags

You can collect the following from your local community hubs and libraries:

  • clear sacks
  • reusable bags.
