Blue Badge holders and ANPR

If you're a Blue Badge holder you can still park for free, but you must register your Blue Badge and vehicle details before you enter the car park.

You may register multiple vehicles on your account, however only one vehicle may be active at any one time to use.

Find out how to add vehicles to your Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Blue Badge parking account.

Your application will provide free parking for the registered vehicles in all Medway Council ANPR car parks in Rochester, including:

Please ensure that the vehicle you are using for your visit is selected on your account for free parking, otherwise you will need to pay the parking charge to exit the car park.

You must continue to display your Blue Badge when parked.

Please allow up to 7 to 10 working days for any new Blue Badge exemption to be processed.

If you have a Blue Badge but have not registered your vehicle, you will be able to use the car parks and disabled bays, but you will need to pay for parking when you leave.

Alternatives to ANPR in Rochester

If you need to park in Rochester and are unable to register for free parking in the ANPR car parks, there are many other locations within the town where you can park for free.

A vehicle displaying a valid Blue Badge can park in the following locations:

  • on a yellow line for up to 3 hours if a clock, set to the arrival time, is displayed
  • in any on street permit or pay and display bay, alongside parking bays in one of our many surface car parks.
  • at the Rochester disabled car park, located just behind Rochester High Street.
