Connect 5 training
Connect 5 is an accredited mental health training programme originally aimed at front line staff working in:
- justice and rehabilitation
- social care
- housing
- worklessness
- social enterprise and the third sector
- pastoral and education support services.
It has since been used by a range of other community groups and businesses.
Connect 5 draws on cognitive behavioural therapy to promote self-help. It also focuses on having wellbeing conversations and how to signpost someone to sources of support.
On the training, you'll learn how to manage conversations with your clients, colleagues, family or friends so that they are better able to understand, manage and improve their own mental health. Tools and techniques are also valuable for supporting your own mental health and wellbeing.
Connect 5 offers 3 tiered sessions which are half a day long each, starting with an introductory session and followed by 2 sessions that go into more detail.
We deliver sessions 1 and 2 as a one day course and session 3 as a half day. You can also complete the sessions as 3 separate half day online sessions.
You can complete as many tiers as you want but will need to complete each session before you can move onto the next one.
You can find out when the course is next running and book your place via the A Better Medway Training Portal.
