New NHS Test and Trace app launches on 24 September

By 24 September you must display an NHS Test and Trace QR poster at your entrance if your business type is on this list. Failure to do so could result in a prosecution or a fixed penalty fine.

Register, download and display your venue check-in QR code poster. The poster will enable your visitors and customers to check in to your venue by scanning the QR code using the NHS app. The app will help the NHS trace individuals that may have coronavirus.

Create your own venue QR code and check-in posters

Please encourage your colleagues to download the app. The new app allows people to report symptoms and order a coronavirus test.

Customers who cannot scan the QR code

If anyone does not scan the QR code you must take their details which should include:

  • name of each customer
  • contact phone number or email address
  • date of visit
  • arrival time and, where possible, departure time or estimated departure time
  • name of the assigned staff member: if a customer will interact with only one member of staff (for example, a hairdresser)

This information must be stored for 21 days and shared with NHS Test and Trace, if required.

You must refuse entry to customers who refuse to scan or log their details.

Support NHS Test and Trace to prevent more infections

Coronavirus hasn’t gone away. By working together we can help prevent more cases and protect our Medway communities.

Check for further details on how to support Test and Trace on your premises.

info Help with demand for personal protective equipment

As you may be aware, there is a potential shortage of protective gowns within the NHS.

You can help if you're a local textile or clothing manufacturer and have the capacity to help fulfil the demand.

If you know of any business which might be able to adapt their business and help with the creation of protective gowns, please ask them to email us directly at businessandskills@medway.gov.uk.
