Gillingham POW! Our Gillingham High Street takeover in partnership with MESS ROOM and Mark Barnes.
Along with other local artists, we have created a public gallery that will fill the high street with artworks themed on:
- local legends and heroes
- everything that makes Gillingham special.
Each piece is specially commissioned to bring this exciting new cultural offering.
The artworks will be available to see from Saturday 28 August 2021 in and around Gillingham High Street.

Gillingham POW! has a selection of free workshops so you can get involved and create your own masterpiece.
2A-LTY Anime Magic: Music and Illustration
Learn how to draw using the anime and manga styles and create your own hero.
Karen Scudder: Texture
Learn how to add texture to your drawings with Karen Scudder. She will teach you a range of skills using different materials to bring your artwork to the next level.
Wordsmithery: Manga, Dickens and the Ghost of Writings Past'
Sam Hall from Wordsmithery will be talking about her experiences of adapting her play into a graphic novel. She will also be running a workshop that'll teach you to create a basic one page illustrated story with a spooky Halloween theme.
Suitable for adults and young people aged 14 and over.
