Climate change is one of the most significant challenges of our time. In recognition of this, Medway Council declared a Climate Emergency in April 2019 and developed a Climate Change Action Plan. The action plan aims to:
- reduce or prevent greenhouse gas emissions to reach net zero by 2050
- increase resilience against the impacts of climate change.
Our ambitions for climate action align with the One Medway Council Plan 2024 to 2028, and the priority of ‘enjoying clean, green, safe and connected communities’.
