Every year we recruit a number of canvassers to assist with updating the electoral register.

General election

General elections are held every 5 years. The last general election was in 2024.

There is currently no set date for the next general election.

Local election

Local elections are held every 4 years. Different areas vote in different years.

Our last local election was in 2023. Our next local election is due to take place in May 2027.

Candidate expenses

Any request to inspect candidate expenses must be made in writing stating the name of the person who will be inspecting the document, and the date on which they wish to inspect them.

To request, email: electoralservices@medway.gov.uk

You can also request copies of the returns and accompanying documents, which will be supplied on payment of the fee of 20p per side. Please note that the addresses of any individuals who have made donations to candidates will be redacted on the versions made available for inspection or provided as copies.
