A website or online service should work well on all devices.

This includes desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.

A responsive website automatically changes the way it displays on different size screens and devices.

This means:

  • you only need one URL (not a separate form or website for mobile users)
  • a user’s experience is not degraded by the device they use
  • the website is accessible to everyone, including those with varying disabilities.

A website should also work in the latest versions of the following web browsers:

  • Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari
  • Opera.
