What you need to submit

If you’re planning to build an extension, outbuilding or other household development you may need to submit:

  • an application for your development type (such as householder or strategic development)
  • a location plan
  • site plan and block plans
  • elevations
  • floor plans
  • site sections
  • roof plans
  • heritage statements (if the property is listed or in a conservation area)

You may need to submit further information depending on your application.

Commercial and residential developments

If you’re applying for permission for a strategic development (9 to 49 residential units) or major development (over 50 residential units) you may need to submit:

  • Affordable Housing Statements
  • Air Quality Assessments
  • Ecological Site Assessment
  • Protected Species Survey
  • Contaminated Land Assessment
  • Landscape or Townscape Character Assessment
  • ventilation or extraction details
  • structural survey
