About our bulky item collections
Booking period changes
Due to a high demand for our free standard collections which are allocated on a first come first served basis, we have extended the booking
If you no longer require your booking, please contact us as soon as you are able and by 4pm the day before collection to cancel so
If you are still not able to make a booking, see other ways you can get rid of your items.
You can pay us to collect an item if it's too bulky to fit into a normal rubbish bin and is heavier than 25kg.
We can collect up to 3 items per booking. Items can only be collected at the kerbside.
Our number of collection slots per day is limited to:
- 50 standard collections
- 5 express collections.
These are available on a first come, first served
Our bulky collection service runs on the same day as usual bin collection days. This is to minimise travel.

Availability
Our online booking form shows the latest booking slot availability for your selected collection type in real time. If the date you need is not available, this is due to all booking slots being filled. Availability will only show if an existing booking for that day is cancelled.
Our telephone advisers do not have access to additional booking slots on unavailable days.
Bulky collection costs
From 1 April 2024, subject to availability, each household will be able to book one free standard bulky waste collection (up to 3 items).
You'll be made aware of your eligibility for a free collection when you book. You then have the option to make a free booking or proceed to pay.
Any additional bookings made will need to be paid for.
The costs for additional bookings are:
- £26.10 for the same day as your usual bin collection
- £47.60 for a different day to your usual bin collection.
Check your usual bin collection day.
Only 3 bookings per home (up to 9 items) can be accepted for any one collection day. If you make more than 3 bookings, any items from those bookings will not be collected and you'll still be charged.
