Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

We have currently suspended all school sports events due to the coronavirus pandemic. We have introduced a series of virtual Mini Youth Games challenges instead.

We will continue to monitor and review the latest guidance and will update schools about our plans for resuming inter-school events around Step 4 of the government's roadmap out of lockdown restrictions.

Mini Youth Games

The Mini Youth Games is our flagship school games series where primary school children compete in a wide range of sporting competitions.

The Games have been running for more than 20 years, with around 4,000 primary school children now taking part in the series every year.

Prizes are awarded at each event and points are gained towards the overall MYG title. A fair play trophy is awarded at each event and there is an annual participation prize for the school that selects the largest number of children to take part in MYG events.

Leading schools also qualify for our Champions Series finals, where the top eight schools in each sport

Open Series

Medway Sport also runs a series of Open Series open to all Medway and Kent primary schools.

Each competition has two separate tournaments, one for Year 3 and 4 pupils and the other for Year 5 and 6 pupils.

The Disability Youth Games is a funded series available to all Medway Special Schools and Units.

Each competition is available to children from Year 5 to Year 9.
