Overview
In Medway, we’re dedicated to offering accessible facilities and inclusive sporting opportunities for people with disabilities and special educational needs, so there's always the chance for everyone to get active in Medway.
Our offer includes:
- Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) gym memberships
- hosting of international and national disability events
- accessible centres and facilities
- support for local clubs to encourage inclusivity
- PE and School Sport events with our inclusive youth games series.
Inclusive sports clubs and sessions
There are a wide variety of sports on offer in Medway, as well as many new and existing clubs offering sports for people of all levels and abilities.

Inclusive Youth Games
The Inclusive Youth Games are a funded series of events and fun based sports galas and tournaments available to all Medway special schools and units.

Medway Sport swimming lessons
The Alpha Step Awards are designed to build confidence in those who may need more support during their swimming lessons.
They are particularly good for:
- a shy or timid child
- a nervous adult
- some people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).

Inclusive multi-sport club
Medway Sport's inclusive multi-sport club welcomes people of all abilities to enjoy a variety of sports in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
Under 16's session
- Location: Medway Park Sports Centre
- When: Monday's from 4.30pm to 5.30pm
- Cost: £3.85 per session. No charge for parents or carers.
There's no need to book, just turn up on the day.
Over 16's session
- Location: Medway Park Sports Centre
- When: Monday's from 5.30pm to 7pm
- Cost: £3.85 per session. No charge for parents or carers.
There's no need to book, just turn up on the day.

Other sports and sports clubs for people with disabilities
There are also a range of disability sports available through community sports clubs in Medway. These include:

- disability athletics

- gymnastics

- walking sports such as walking football
- wheelchair sports.
