Senior sports sessions are for people aged 60 and over.

You can enjoy tailored fitness classes and free swimming at Medway sports centres.

No booking is required for these sessions.

Costs

If you're not a member, sessions cost £4.20 per session and non-member daily admission fees may apply.

If you have a discounted senior membership, sessions are included in your membership.

A senior membership also includes a free functional fitness test to help you keep track of your fitness.

Senior sports session timetable

Mondays

Medway Park

  • 9am to 11am: badminton, short tennis, table tennis and short mat bowls
  • 10.30am to 12pm: walking football
  • 2pm to 3pm: senior aerobics.

Strood Sports Centre

  • 11am to 1pm: Sporting Memories (free and taking place from 3 October 2022).

Tuesdays

Hoo Sports Centre

  • 9.30am to 10.15am: senior aerobics
  • 10am to 11.30am: table tennis.

Medway Park

  • 9am to 11am: short mat bowls and table tennis
  • 1pm to 1.45pm: senior functional skills.

Strood Sports Centre

  • 10am to 12pm: short mat bowls, badminton, short tennis and table tennis
  • 11am: chair fit
  • 11am to 12pm: walking football.

Wednesdays

Medway Park

  • 9am to 11am: badminton, short tennis, short mat bowls and table tennis.

Thursdays

Strood Sports Centre

  • 10am to 12pm: short mat bowls, badminton, short tennis and table tennis.

Medway Park

Hoo Sports Centre

  • 9.30am to 10.15am: funky Friday fitness

Sporting Memories

Sporting Memories Club will be held at Strood Sports Centre every Monday from Monday, 3 October, between 11am to 1pm.

The first hour of the club will be devoted to talking and remembering past sporting events and activities and during the second hour residents will take part in light physical activity. 

The club, which is dementia-friendly, aims to make a positive difference in the lives of older residents by providing a welcoming environment where they can develop relationships with people in their local community to help tackle loneliness. 

Free swimming card

We offer all over 60s free swimming with a free swimming card. You can swim for free during free swim card sessions at:
