Renew your resident parking permit

You can renew your permit online one month before it's expiry date.

You should request to renew your permit at least 14 days before it's expiry. This allows us enough time to process your permit and get it to you. 

We aim to get your permit to you within 10 working days. 

Renew online

If you applied for your permit online, you’ll receive a reminder by email. This email will include a link to a short online renewal form.

You'll need to provide proof of address with your name and date on from the last 3 months.

Proof can include:

  • a utility bill
  • bank statement.

If you did not apply for your permit online, you'll need to provide:

  • proof that you own the vehicle or drive a company vehicle
  • proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement with your name and dated in the last 3 months. 

Your proof must be clear and readable.

A resident parking permit costs £30.

To renew by post, download the resident parking permit renewal form.

Once you have completed the form, please post it back to us. In your envelope, you must include:

  • proof that you own the vehicle or drive a company vehicle
  • your proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement (this must be in your name and dated within the last 3 months)
  • a cheque made payable to Medway Council for £30, or a phone number we can use to take payment.

Post your completed form to: Parking Services, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent ME4 4TR.

Renew by email

To renew by email, download the resident parking permit renewal form.

Once you have completed your form, scan and attach it to an email, along with:

  • your proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement, with your name and dated in the last 3 months
  • a phone number we can use to take payment.
