Keeping fit in Medway

It’s fun and easy to keep fit in Medway. Whether you prefer to exercise alone or with others, the diversity of activities will never cease to amaze you. Keeping fit is not simply about putting on some trainers and going running - that's not for everyone. What about playing a game of golf – with your feet. Or perhaps dodge ball – with foam-tipped bows and arrows. How about a free game of tennis at one of our many courts? Or an energetic aerobic dance class? You can even swim for free if you're under 16 or over 60 with the Medway City Card.

If you find it difficult to exercise due to a long-term health condition

If this is the case, you'll probably be given an exercise referral, usually from your doctor. This is when an exercise programme is recommended to improve a particular health condition. During the 12-week programme you'll experience the positive effects physical activity can have on your fitness levels and mental well-being, leading to an improved quality of life. Contact your doctor in the first instance.
